On Monday 6th of February 2012 all our 7th and 8th formers had the chance to see a performance of the play “Pitch Black”. Written by Clive Duncan, Pitch Blackis based on Shakespeare`s Othello. The play, a production of the Vienna English Theatre on Schooltours, introduces a variety of current and universal themes, such as racial difference, age gap, envy and jealousy, which are open to interpretation and connected to modern-day society. In contrast to the original setting of Shakespeare’s play, Duncan places the modern heroes in the football world showing us that human character and emotions have not experienced much change over the centuries.
