The 3a and the 4b participated in the English in Action programme in February 2004 The aim of these 25 lessons of communicative English with a trained native-speaker teacherwas to enrich the teaching of English and to immerse students in English language and culture in their own institution. |
 | Another aim was to increase students’ confidence in using English for communication and to encourage our students` positive attitude towards language learning. There was a lot of project-based work, which gave the students a chance to undertake a piece of extended work on a topic of interest to them. Here they played an instrumental role in both the choice of topic and its realisation . These projects were highly motivating for the participants. The presentation of the work of the last lesson of each day gave the students a chance to gain experience of performing in English before friends, parents and regular teachers.
